Overview

Each month a member of the group gives a talk, normally based around the theme chosen for the year. This is followed by discussion, with an opportunity to continue in the pub across the road for those who wish.

The theme for 2025 is Early Civilisations – before 1066. Talks may cover either a particular civilisation – anything from the Phoenicians to the Anglo Saxons – or an aspect of the chosen civilisation:
