Group designed to travel various destinations in a day (Monday to Friday, April to September) by public transport (bus, train, metro) mostly taking advantage of senior bus passes and train passes. Started 2025 with three trips (Bridgnorth, Birmingham, Liverpool).

"Our latest adventure was to a sunny calm day in Aberystwyth in June 2026.

Six of us got the bus around 7 am from Kingswinford to Wolverhampton bus station and walked to Wolverhampton train station where we had a coffee before catching the 8.43 train on platform one and had a smooth journey, arriving at about 11.30. We walked from the station to the sea front where we had "a cuppa" then walked along the promenade to Constitution Hill. We have decided that this was our goal for the day and we got on the cliff Railway to enjoy the views from the top. We also had a lovely lunch together in the café at the top. Some of us had Welsh rabbit. Went into the camera obscura to check out the view from there. When we came down from Constitution Hill, we walked along the promenade to the pier and had ice creams. Only one of us lost their ice cream to a seagull !!

We left Aberystwyth reluctantly on the 5.27 train back to Wolverhampton. We did have to change trains at Shrewsbury as the driver to the TFW train was late. But the air-conditioning on the West Midlands train was much better. When we got back to the bus station in Wolverhampton there was a number 16 bus waiting for us to go home. A very successful day, hoping to go to Stratford upon Avon next. Watch this space!"
