Report of June Committee Meeting 2026

The Trustees met on 17th June 2026 for the monthly Committee meeting.

Remarks from the Chair included discussions concerning banking, MOTO trip arrangements, AI & ICT (Adrian Barrett attended by invitation of the Chair). The Chair stated that an email would be sent to all the membership requesting applications for the role of Beacon Administrator.
We heard reports from the Treasurer, Group Leader Co-ordinator & Membership Secretary.
Clearance of the Grounds surrounding the Community Centre & Waste disposal in the near future from the Centre was also discussed.
Keith Price has taken over from Gwyn Tingley as the STARS group contact.
Final arrangements were made for our 25th Birthday party on 10th July & 24th July to enable as many members as possible to celebrate. All tickets were sold for the 10th July, but the other event is not ticketed.

Report of May Committee Meeting 2026

The Trustees met on 20th May 2026. We heard from the Social Events Team about their preparations for the 25th Birthday bash on 10th July. Furthermore, our celebrations would continue on another ooccasion, the Coffee Morning, also in July.
Reports were given by the Treasurer, Membership Secretary, and Group Leader Co-ordinator, to our satisfaction.
Chair's remarks included advice that new Defibrillator pads had been ordered and would be fitted to make the unit workable again. The role of Beacon Administrator needs to be filled as a matter of priority. The job description was read out to the Committee and would begiven out in notices at Coffee Morning at the end of May.

Trustees and Officers are elected by members for three-year terms at an AGM. The Chair and Vice-Chair stand-down at the end of their term. Trustees and Officers may be re-elected for a further term or terms.

In addition, other members perform a number of jobs to assist the smooth running of the u3a, including:

• Group Leaders
• STARS – Small Tasks As Required such as laying out chairs/tables, taking the money etc at Speaker Meetings and Coffee Mornings
• Running Day Trips
• Website Manager and Beacon Database Admin
